Chosun University Full-Time Foreign Assistant Professor Position Opening

Qualifications

Only those with one of the following qualifications will be considered.

1. Master's degree (in any field) + two or more years English teaching experience.

2. PhD degree (in any field) (English teaching experience not required).

; Any additional certification or qualifications will be beneficial but not required. (Celta/Delta/Teaching Licence)

(Evaluators will assess applicants’ English teaching experience during the period stated on their resume and official experience may be altered based on the evaluation results.)

Job description

1. Position: Full-time Foreign Assistant Professor (Teaching College-level English credit courses, possibly in combination with non-credit English conversation courses)

2. Employment Level: Non-Tenure

3. Contract Period: 1 year starting March 2021 (renewable)

4. Base Teaching Hours: 10 hours per week (Monday through Friday) (Any hours taught over base will be paid in relation to the regulations of overtime payment).

5. Number of Recruitment: ○○(If there is no qualified person, they will not be hired.)

Salary and Benefits

1. Base Salary: 2,278,000 KRW per month

2. Additional Allowances (per month):

a. Research Allowance: 369,500 KRW

b. Academic career allowance: 120,000KRW (Master’s degree) / 240,000KRW (Doctor’s degree)

c. Extras (Housing, Position, Lunch, etc.): Up to 690,000 KRW (Depends on the individual)

3. Paid Vacation: According to the Summer/Winter shifts schedules.

4. Shared Office: With personal desk and PC

5. Holiday bonuses: 60% of one month's base pay (paid twice a year)

6. Benefits: Teacher's Pension, Health Insurance, etc.

Evaluation Process

1. Stage 1: Candidate applications will be evaluated on the basis of;

(i) level of education,

(ii) scholarships and research,

(iii) relevance of field of study to job,

(iv) teaching experience.

2. Stage 2: Interview for selected Stage‐1 candidates.

On‐campus interview for candidates currently residing in Korea. (Interview to be held on December 14^th, 2020) If interview candidates are not in Korea during this stage, further instructions about interviews will be given.
