We are pleased to announce the registration guidelines for the 2026 second semester Korean Language Course, which serves as a substitute for the graduate foreign language examination.

1. Purpose

a. To enhance the Korean language proficiency of international students required for the completion of their degree program

b. To support international graduate students in adjusting to graduate school life

c. To reduce the burden of the foreign language examination and to cultivate practical language skills through the substitute course

2. Course Operation

a. Course Period: September 12, 2026 (Sat) – December 26, 2026 (Sat), 15 weeks

b. Class Time: Every Saturday, 3 hours (09:00–12:00)

c. Format: In-person (face-to-face) class

d. Grading: Pass / Fail

e. Eligibility:  International students currently enrolled in the Master's or Doctoral program of the Graduate School

f. Classroom: Room 5107, 5th Floor, North Wing, Main Building

3. Course Registration

a. Application Period: September 1, 2026 (Tue) – September 7, 2026 (Mon), until 15:00 (7 days)

※ No late applications will be accepted after the application period. Please be sure to apply within the designated period. (No extension of the application period and no additional course openings will be made.)

b. How to Apply: (Online) Submit the registration form and proof of payment via Google Form

c. Documents to Submit (2 total):

1. One (1) copy of the 2026 Application Form for the Korean Language Course (Substitute for the Graduate Foreign Language Examination) 

※ When filling out the application form, please indicate the semester based on your own 2026 second semeste.

2.  One (1) copy of the tuition payment receipt (bank transfer confirmation, transaction screenshot, etc.)

4. Course Fee

Amount: KRW 200,000

• Payment Method: Bank transfer (Shinhan Bank, Account No. 100-036-657940, Account Holder: Chosun University Graduate School) 
  ※ When transferring the course fee, please be sure to use the applicant's own legal name (as shown on your passport)

5. Notes

a. This course is not included in the maximum credits allowed per semester (9 credits) or in the credits required for degree completion (Master's: 24, Doctoral: 36, Combined Master's–Doctoral: 60)

※ In the case of a Fail grade, the course will not be counted as completed, and the foreign language examination requirement will not be waived (Academic Regulations Article 40, Paragraph 2)

※ If tuition is not paid during the registration period, the person in charge will cancel the registration at their own discretion

b. If the number of applicants is 12 or fewer, the course may be canceled

c. Attendance recognition certificates will be accepted only once per student (no exceptions)
