The Information and knowledge-based contemporary society has a focus on communication and in self-representation. Children or adults who have difficulty in communication because of a speech disorder desperately need diagnosis and treatment. The number of speech therapists wanted in medicine, welfare, and educational institutes is gradually increasing. Therefore, this department is designed to provide specialized education and practices on communication problems such as language disorders, aphasia, stuttering, speech disorders, and phonological disorders. Students can become capable language therapists who can perform studies which can be a base for the development of language therapy.
Educational Goals
To teach about communication disorder treatments through a general curriculum on diagnosis and treatment according to the types of language and speech disorders.
To provide opportunities to gain practical experience through clinical observation and therapy.
To contribute to the academic development of communication disorders through studies on various types of communication disorders.
