College of Law and Social Science was established by integrating the College of Law and the College of Social Science in 2020. The College of Law that was established simultaneously when Chosun University was established in 1946 and until now it has boasted its history and tradition of producing numerous talented individuals of all social standings. We are intending to proceed an educational program that reflects the demand of the students along with the 4th industrial revolution breaking up the boundaries of adjacent field of studies by integrating the College of Social Science that cultivates talents equipped with perspective to see through the essential of a phenomenon and understanding social relationships by comprehending human and social phenomenon in various perspectives. In order to provide students with education of superior quality, we are securing outstanding faculty and preparing various scholarship systems so that students who have enthusiasm can all be beneficiaries. In addition, we are endeavoring to support facilities for learning and employment such as lecture rooms and seminar rooms equipped with the latest facility, moot courtrooms, accommodation, study rooms for students studying for all sorts of national exams, etc.

Introduction

Department of Law and Public Service is a department that cultivates public talents and legal experts expected to become leaders of the 4th industrial revolution through career customized legal educational system by reflecting the demands of advancing to public office and judicial officer of our society. Department of Law and Public Service cultivates talents expected to become judicial officers such as jury, prosecutors, lawyers, etc. after advancing to the law school (University of Law School) with systematic mainstream legal education. In addition, it is a department optimized for advancement to public office such as police executive, 5th-degree, 7th-degree civil servant, etc. including police force, prosecutor office, legal office, correctional office, probational office, and general administrative office. We are equipped with a program for cultivating talents expected to take roles internationally through global education characterized by native English lectures in addition to cultivating talents who aim to advance to all sorts of public enterprise.

Educational Goal

• Advancement to judicial officers through systematic legal education necessary for advancing to the law school (University of Law School)
• Advancement to various public offices such as police force, prosecutor office, legal office, correctional office, probational office, and general administrative office, police executive, 5th-degree, 7th-degree civil servant, etc.

• Close-up guidance from entrance to graduation with student 1:1 customized education equipped with optimum curriculum by each career field
• 1:1 Mentor and mentee guidance program from legal officers and successful public officers of the same school
• Support students so that they can devote themselves to learning by establishing ‘Legal Public Talents Cultivation Scholarship’ of three hundred million won as development fund of faculty and graduates
